Please be advised that you can now reverse unauthorised debit orders under R200 on the online banking platform, as well as, the mobile banking app. Please visit: https://community.standardbank.co.za/t5/Internet-banking/How-to-reverse-a-Debit-Order-on-Online-Bank... for more information on how you can reverse your unauthorised debit orders on the online/internet banking platform, as well as, https://community.standardbank.co.za/t5/Key-app-features/How-to-reverse-a-Debit-Order-on-the-Mobile-... for mobile banking app reversals. Thanks Mandy. As this is a scam I cannot contact them and do not know who they are. The only information I have was supplied by Standard Bank - phone numbers tht nobody answers so your solution does not help and I need the help of my bank. It seems crazy that if victim of a scam allowed by the bank, that all up to me to sort out without any information. Please suggest another way. Thanks

Hello @Siyabulelatokhw

Please be advised that the bank regards the safety and security of our customers as crucial and has a zero tolerance approach to fraud of any nature.  Customers who notice an unauthorised debit order on their accounts are encouraged to contact their bank immediately to reverse the transaction. This can be done at a branch or through the call centre on 0860 123 000. There are no fees associated with this reversal as long as the transaction is reversed within 40 days of the transaction taking place. Customers who feel that they have been incorrectly debited or charged for a service that they did not subscribe to should also contact the company directly to stop any future debit orders. Customers are also encouraged to lay a criminal complaint with the South African Police Service. In turn, Standard Bank does report any suspicious transactions under strict regulatory guidelines to the relevant authorities.

Kind Regards,

Mandy

Hi Mandy

Thanks for your response. I obtained contact details from Standard Bank about the debit order  - it was set up many months ago but without my permission from Naedo. The contact phone numbers are either engaged or voice saying call later. I am certain this is a scam but having trouble cancelling the direct debit order. I also want to know how to get the payments back as cannot understand how a debit order was set up without my permission especially as this has happened before.

Thanks and hope you can help further.
