What should I do if I am overseas and a transaction has been declined?

 

You can simply sign-in to the app, and indicate to us that you are traveling. Follow these steps:

 

  • Sign-in to the app
  • Swipe the screen from left to right
  • Navigate to ‘Manage Cards'
  • Select the card you’d like to use while you’re abroad
  • Select ‘Use Card Abroad’
  • Toggle this to ‘on’
  • Confirm your departure and arrival dates
  • Select the country(ies) you’ll travel to – up to 9
  • Add alternative contact details for someone else, while you are away
  • Take note of your reference number (top right corner)
  • You can change these settings at any time - and you will get a new reference number
  • You can also delete your travel by toggling 'Use card abroad' to 'off'

In settings I do not see this option. It leads me to Manage Dashboard etc.

Hi there,

 

I am traveling overseas. Before I left I managed my cards to account for me traveling overseas. But my card has still declined while i'm here. What do I need to do?

Hi Kabelo,

 

Please confirm if you did follow the below step. As part of our fraud monitoring service, we flag transactions made in certain countries as ‘high risk’. To make sure your card transactions won’t be declined because of these flags, please let us know about your upcoming trip.
 
To notify us of your travel dates, follow these steps:

1)   Sign in to the App and go to Settings
2)   Select the card you want to use while you’re abroad
3)   Select Use card abroad and change the setting to On
4)   Confirm your departure and arrival dates
5)   Select which countries you’ll visit (up to nine)
6)   Add alternative contact details should we need to contact you while you’re away
7)   Confirm your settings by tapping Done
8)   Take note of your reference number in the top right corner

 

If this has failed, please email us your account details and ID number and contact to: [email protected] and use the subject line as "Using my card abroad/ Community query.
