So perhaps the right question to be asking is why the general passivity of investors - for example around issues of communication? Or the passivity around who is on a board - or how many boards the person is on?
Steinhoff springs to mind as regards the last point. Then the auditors - enuf said!
I have a policy of always voting on the auditor issue - "me and my 300 sharss " I know - but I ALSO note that the Ruperts of this World took note of the responses of the man in the street vis a vis remuneration...
Which I applaud. Its always a step in the right direction. Shareholders should be supportive , questioning and therefore not passive. "Trust but verify".
Sounds like a good approach to me?
