Nil Paid

Good afternoon, Can someone please enlighten me on the purpose and risk/opporunity of the nilpaid shares. sources i have found on google state that after the 17th Oct then the nil paid shall be converted into ordinary shares at the prevailing ordinary share price and one shall have the rights to trade those without restriction. Is this trully the case or is there a catch?
