I have the same query. But I have never had Standard Bank IT respond to any of my queries over the last few years! So don't hold your breath waiting for them to fix it.

Hi, Nicknames for the accounts can be given on the Mobile Banking App on your smartphone or tablet. Select the account that you want to rename, then go to "Details" and then tap on the pen icon in the line that says "Account Nickname". The nicknames will also then pull through to the new Online Banking website.
