How do I register for a trading account?

Registration is very simple and straight forward. For Online Share Trading (www.securities.co.za) and Standard Bank Webtrader (www.standardbank.com/webtrader), the steps are very similar. If you visit their websites, and click on the “sign up” tiles, you would commence the registration process. 

Once you have completed the 3 & 4 step registration process for either OST or Webtrader respectively, you will need to send us documents in order to satisfy the FIC Act (FICA). A list of these required documents can also be found on the websites, by clicking on the “FICA” link at the bottom of the page.

The account will be activated once these documents satisfy the FIC Act. You will then receive an email confirming the account activation and your subsequent ability to trade.
