Stanbic IBTC team
Not applicable

The much anticipated 2014 World Cup taking place in Brazil is about to begin and you should not miss out of the fun wherever you are from Artillery to Kaura Namoda. Here are things you could do to fully enjoy the biggest sporting event in the world.

Support A Team
Supporting a team to win the cup is vital to enjoying the World Cup games because it keeps you interested in watching the games and makes you passionate about the tournament. In the eventuality that the team you are supporting is knocked out of the tournament before it is over, simply choose another team to support.

Host A Brazilian Themed Party
To successfully host a Brazilian themed party, you will need to do the following:
• Decorate the venue in yellow, blue and green which is the colour of the Brazilian flag. You should also consider using palm trees, Brazilian flags and brightly coloured plants and flowers to decorate the venue.
• Treat your guests to Brazilian cuisine such as: cheese bread, stuffed crab shells, Chicken Bobó (chicken stew), Shrimp Moqueca (shrimp stew), Brigadeiros (chocolate confection) and a freshly mixed Caipirinhas drink (similar to mojitos) to go with the meal.
• And for your music collection, play some samba songs or Latin American pop.

Watch The Games At A Viewing Centre
Why watch the games alone at home when you can go into a viewing centre preferably one close to your house and watch the games whilst bonding with strangers over a cold drink.

Kick It Up With Street Football
In the spirit of world cup and all the excitement that comes with it, you could use this opportunity to play friendly football games with your friends. What else are weekends for anyway? Organize your own mini world cup games and compete with other teams in your neighbourhood. This promises to be fun.

Wear A Jersey
Buying and wearing your favourite player’s jersey is a good way to support your team. The world cup jersey can be bought online or at different sport stores. You can pay safely with your Stanbic IBTC cards.

Download World Cup Apps
Last but not the least is to download world cup app(s) on your device, it will keep you updated on the go. Apps to download in order to follow all the happenings at the World Cup include but not limited to the following: ESPN FC Soccer & World Cup, Supersport, FIFA Official, One Football, Goal LiveScores etc. Our friends at Tech Cabal have a great list of 7 useful apps here http://bit.ly/1uWe3VL

Follow these tips dutifully and you are well on your way to have a memorable Brazil 2014 World Cup.
