COVID-19 severely disrupted the lives of our students and scholars in 2020. In many cases, learners had to adapt to online or remote learning. Adjustment to this new way of learning and interacting has been hard for most, and as such, we all have a part to play in aiding when it comes to issues affecting children, including improving their school-readiness.
Standard Bank welcomes the opportunity to alleviate the plight of impoverished children by providing them with much-needed school amenities that many of us take for granted. We have partnered with actor, Vuyo Ngcukana, to assist in building a bright future for the next generation of leaders.
We will be working with Vuyo providing stationery packs for primary school learners at Ennerdale Primary School.
“I have a passion and an interest in early childhood development, education is the one thing that I know can change a person’s life for good; the earlier that happens, the better the chances we have at giving our children a bright future,” says Ngcukana.
At Standard Bank, we understand that to drive Africa’s growth thus depends on her people having access to quality education, tools, skills training, and life-long learning opportunities.
Many of our CSI efforts are focussed on investment in education, with the objective of contributing to social and economic transformation through supporting the development of youth that are future-fit and ready for work in the new world.
At Standard Bank, our dream is that everyone's dreams can be. We can work together. We can find solutions. Watch this space to find out how with the right help, It Can Be.
