I, Zimasa Qolohle, have a Masters in B Com Law from the University of Johannesburg and would like to entice you to join me on the Standard Bank Compliance Graduate Programme.

Since the Global Financial Crisis of 2008, which was caused by lack of regulatory supervision in financial institutions, the need for designated compliance functions has grown rapidly and the bank needs hard working, ethical and driven people to tackle the heavy regulatory requirements that are imposed by the South African Revenue Services and other significant authorities everyday.

Standard Bank is bound by over 150 laws and documents and failure to comply with these can lead to the imposition of heavy fines of up to over a billion dollars (Yes, you read correctly, DOLLARS). Therefore, the bank needs dedicated and hard-working law students like you to help maintain its ethical and legal obligations.

As a young and energetic graduate, the Compliance Graduate Programme at Standard Bank will expose you to an array of duties and functions that you will not find anywhere else! You will gain a broad knowledge in functions such as Personal and Business Banking, Corporate and Investment Banking, Sanctions, Market Conduct, Personal Account Trading, Exchange Controls and many more from the monthly rotations that you will go through. You will be part of a team of members dedicated to help you grow within the bank and make sure that you get the most out of your time on the programme.

One of Standard Bank's core values is "Growing our People" which is evident on this programme. As a compliance graduate you will be required to complete a Diploma as a Compliance Officer through the University of Johannesburg to add to your already esteemed degree.
