Billed as the largest global meeting place for African utilities, the African Utilities Week brings together around 6 000 leading stakeholders from 70 countries to explore current trends, challenges and opportunities in the power sector.

The conference tracks generation, transmission and distribution; metering and revenue cycle management; efficiency, embedded generation and energy storage; water; and the Africa Finance and Investment Forum.

Standard Bank’s skills and expertise will be well represented at the conference, including:

  • Jeannot Boussougouth, Executive Vice President, Power and Infrastructure, Investment Banking, who will be joining other leading experts to discuss trends impacting project finance in regional energy markets as well as joining a panel to discuss funding partners during project development - increasing options for developers.

  • Subashnee Moodley, Client Solutions Executive, as a panellist in a discussion on Power Africa: Currency Risk and Power Financing.

Standard Bank is also a partner in the Power and Water Utility CEO Forum, where C-level executives from Africa’s leading utilities come together to discuss pressing topics within the industry and to accelerate cross-border collaboration across Africa.
