Facebook users should be on the lookout for a phishing scam currently doing the rounds.
Some users have received emails that appear to be from Facebook warning them that their password has been reset and that they need to click on an attachment to retrieve the new password.
The attachment is actually a “password grabber” that installs when the users clicks on the link. Potentially, this programme can access any username and password used on the Internet from that computer.
The subject line of the scam email reads: “Facebook Password Reset Confirmation! Customer Support”.
If you receive any e-mail claiming to be from Facebook about your password, delete it immediately. Facebook have assured all users that they will never request that you activate anything unless it is while you are online at their official site.
