Ethiopia is one of Africa's fastest growing economies and is fast becoming a major investment hub that attracts large capital flows. Good policies and high levels of investment in agriculture, energy, roads and railways have created an environment that supports business and growth.
It’s economy is predicted to grow 5.6% this year. Its GDP growth has been close to 10% over the past 5 years and has been forecast to continue to grow at 8% over the next few years.
We have expanded our extensive East African footprint with the official opening of a representative office in Ethiopia. We now have a continent-wide footprint in 20 African countries.
The representative office, which is based in Addis Ababa, was opened by our Chief Executive, Ben Kruger. It will act as an entry point for clients who want to invest in Ethiopia and will be administered by our head office in South Africa.
As a bank rooted in Africa, our vision is to build a leading financial institution. We are able to leverage our strong position on the continent, our strategic partnerships and our sector expertise in natural resources to support, grow and connect African markets to each other.
