To achieve progress and prosperity for all, we have outlined key values that we share with our communities, and that are supported by a focused framework.
In this framework, we include investments in education that can benefit communities for decades. A recent example of this is when, in late June, Standard Lesotho Bank announced the winners of its most recent public-sector campaign.
At the Standard Lesotho Bank main boardroom in Maseru, Chief Executive Mpho Vumbukani handed over M20 000 cheques to Butha Buthe High School and Seventh Day Adventist Primary School following the bank's public-sector campaign to schools and institutions of higher learning, which started at the beginning of 2017.
Congratulating the schools, Mr Vumbukani shared that the event was just the beginning, as there will be more draws, the soonest to be held in October this year when the winning schools will also receive a M20 000 cheque.
Linking to the Group’s shared values, Mr Vumbukani explained that in order to have a functional and productive education sector, institutions of learning require cash-flow management and liquidity solutions that are specific to their needs. Fortunately, Standard Lesotho Bank has provided flagship payments and collections solutions to make fee-paying a fast, seamless exercise for both parents and schools.
Also at the event was Thinyane Makoti, Principal of Butha Buthe High School, who was overjoyed at having won the M20 000 prize, saying it’s unusual to win a competition without competing. Thus, he thanked the parents who worked with the school by paying their children's fees through the bank, because Butha Buthe could not have won if not for them.
