Getting to grips with UCount Rewards tiering
Standard Bank Team
Super Contributor

As a Standard Bank UCount Rewards member, you will be placed into one of four rewards tiers, depending on your banking behaviour and number of Standard Bank products and services you use every month. The higher the tier, the more rewards points you collect!

You collect different amounts of tiering points by using various Standard Bank products and services.
Remember, the more tiering points you collect, the higher your tier and therefor the higher your collect rate.
Collecting tiering points is easy, for example:
• Use internet or cellphone banking at least three times a month = 50 points
• Hold a current account for at least three years = 100 points
• Receive your current account statement via email = 50 points
• Update your personal contact details at a Standard Bank branch once a year = 75 points
• Deposit cash or cheques at a Standard Bank ATM once a month = 25 points.

What does this mean in the real world?
Let’s say Lebo collected 628 tiering points by using a variety of Standard Bank products and services last month. This places him in tier 3, meaning he gets:
• 3% back in rewards points on grocery purchases from Participating Grocery Retailers
• 1% back in rewards points on all transactions made with his Standard Bank personal cheque, credit or debit card
• R1 back in rewards points for every litre of fuel purchased at a participating Caltex forecourt
• Numerous discounts and special offers when using his Standard Bank personal cheque, credit or debit card at our Participating Rewards Retailers.
During July, Lebo spends a total amount of R6 000. He buys groceries at Pick ‘n Pay and Woolworths amounting to R1 000, R3 500 on everyday purchases, fills up his tank with 50 Litres of petrol at Caltex and spends R1 500 at Incredible Connection.

As Lebo is on tier 3, he collects:
• R30 in rewards points on his grocery purchases
• R50 in rewards points on his normal, everyday purchases
• R50 in rewards points on his fuel purchase
• R18.80 in rewards points on his Incredible Connection purchase.

This is a total of R148.80 back in rewards points for the month!
Lebo then gets to choose exactly how he wants to be rewarded. He can redeem his rewards points on the UCount Rewards Online Mall and Online Travel Mall or at any of our Participating Rewards Retailers, Bidvest Premier Airport Lounges and Caltex forecourts using his activated UCount Rewards card.
