Simphiwe Nghona, the Man Changing the Face of Vehicle and Asset Finance in Africa

Simphiwe Nghona_ Feature Friday.jpgSimphiwe Nghona our Group Head for Vehicle and Asset Finance (VAF) joined the Standard Bank Personal and Business Banking (PBB) Group Executive Committee in March 2017.

With over 22 years' experience in the automotive and banking industries, Nghona has been tasked with further improving Standard Bank's customer experience within the asset-based finance space. On the on-set, he kicked off this challenge by identifying all the relevant external channels where customers interact and make their asset purchases. This also includes digital platforms.

Simphiwe and his Group VAF Team recently launched a new Wholesale Finance proposition that will offer Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s), distributors, importers and their dealer network a solution providing comprehensive vehicle and asset finance capabilities to finance inventory across the African continent.

He says, “The division has strategically identified this key component of the automotive and commercial value chain as a missing link, and the Bank has invested in people, technology and the business to close this gap quickly. It also affords Standard Bank Group an opportunity to participate wider within the value-chain and add meaningful value as a financier.”
