Nigerians were thrilled to get close to the AFCON trophy and share in the Super Eagles’ success, as Stanbic IBTC helped relive the moments that entitled us to the bragging rights as champions of Africa for the next two years.
The trophy tour kicked off at the Patrick Speech and Languages Centre, Ikeja, Lagos- a school for autistic children, where Sola David-Borha CEO of Stanbic IBTC Holdings urged the students to strive to fulfill their potential regardless of the challenges that they face. She averred Stanbic IBTC’s identity as a caring institution that believes strongly in adding value to the communities we operate in.
With former Nigerian footballer and AFCON ’94 winner, Victor Ikpeba present, she advised the students that the success of the Nigerian national football team in South Africa was possible with single-minded determination, hard-work and self-belief.
At the Ikeja Shopping Mall, more people got an opportunity to embrace and share in the Super Eagles’ victory with special one-on-one photo sessions with the trophy.
The trophy tour continued with a radio spree at radio stations in Lagos - Beat FM, Classic FM and Naija FM where people got a chance to win N5,000 each by answering simple questions.
Staff and customers at the Yaba branch on Herbert Macaulay Road in Lagos were delighted as the trophy made its last stop on the tour
