The fight against malaria
Standard Bank Team
Super Contributor

On 25 April, the world will unite in support of World Malaria Day.

We have teamed up with United Against Malaria, an organisation that works towards meeting the United Nations’ target of universal access to malaria medicine and mosquito nets in Africa, to enforce the theme of ‘Sustain Gains, Save Lives: Invest in Malaria’.

850 000 children die each year from malaria on the African continent and it’s the number one killer of children under the age of five in Africa. The African continent’s future success is linked to addressing the impact of malaria and by raising awareness, we can help end this epidemic.

Malaria is treatable and most importantly, easily preventable. We need to work together to create awareness and ensure malaria doesn’t claim more lives.

Spread the word and support United Against Malaria by visiting www.unitedagainstmalaria.org.

You can also keep an eye on your local media for information on special World Malaria Day activities taking place near you on 25 April.
