They know their status!
Standard Bank Team

At least 10% of Standard Bank staff in South Africa now know their HIV status as of 1 December.

Just over 3 500 staff took part in HIV testing in the major centres of South Africa over the past week as part of Standard Bank’s commemoration of World Aids Day.

Various events were held at the bank’s head office in Johannesburg on the day.

A six-hour spinathon in Johannesburg saw staff raise R93 000 for The New Jerusalem Children’s Home, which provides residential care for abandoned, abused, traumatized, orphaned and HIV-positive children.

Local Johannesburg Radio station YFM broadcast live from the head office complex from midday to 3pm. The theme of their show was HIV/Aids

Besides HIV testing stations, the bank’s various partners, which include a counseling service, set up sites to promote mental and physical wellbeing among staff.

R&B group Future Sound and Evolver performed their track “Let’s get tested” throughout the day.
