Twenty20 cricket hits Zimbabwe
Standard Bank Team
Super Contributor

It’s fast. It’s action-packed. It’s cricket as you’ve never experienced before. Most of all, it’s fun for the whole family.

We've been a sponsor of limited-overs cricket in South Africa since 1997 and we're the official sponsor of:
Ø The international limited-overs team (ODI and International Pro20)
Ø International Pro20 events played in South Africa
Ø The Standard Bank Pro20 series (the domestic franchise competition in South Africa).

And now we've added to this exciting cricket mix, for the first time ever Twenty-20 cricket will take Zimbabwe by storm. This action will run from 12-20 February 2010.

Six teams are battling it out over nine days to be crowned the champions of the first Stanbic Bank 20 Series. Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe is a member of Standard Bank Group (SBG).

Get down to the Harare Sport Club where five teams from the Zimbabwean and Namibian national teams will be taking part in the Stanbic Bank 20 Series.

Hi Guys,
I've been enjoying the cricket played in Harare. Some of it looked like club cricket games in South Africa, but other performances were well worth watching.

This exposure will surely improve cricket in Zimbabwe. The Namibian team did well but why not include some South African amateur teams, future Botswana teams etc to make it a uniquely Southern African cricket success?

Could you please provide us with information where the different teams are based or are from, player history (where were Andy Blignaut, who played county/South African cricket etc). Congrats to Alistair Campbell and his team for all their hard work. Maybe see you guys for another "international" at Clouds End, Louis Trichardt. Will go to the tournament next year if early advertisement reach us!

Thank you for the entertainment and I'm in between supporting the young Namibian team and the Southern Rocks.

It is great that you are a sponsor of such a game. It is great because it brings joy to people. I wish there were more of such games. It is great that this time it was held in Zimbabwe. This country needs such events. Each event brings some money to it and it is nice. Of course it would be even better if people who rule this country were honest too.

With best wishes

Think it was a great step you took. It's so insparative for Namibian team. And most probably it's consequences will be reflected internationally.
