Mandela Day_2016 debriefed1.pptx.jpg

We’re celebrating Mandela today with a book drive for kids!

The 18th of July, proudly celebrated as Mandela Day is a call for South Africans to honour Madiba’s birthday; his legacy by serving those less fortunate. Alone, we may not be able to change the world but by donating just 67 minutes, we may be able to change one person’s world.

Madiba was a firm believer that education is the most powerful weapon to change the world. It’s in this spirit, that we’ve initiated a Mandela Day Book Drive Campaign, in support of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.

Come July 18, our employees will volunteer and give back to local communities by participating in the following activities in honour of Mandela Day:

  1. Mandela Day Book Drive. The book drive will run throughout the month of July, giving employees the opportunity to purchase books for Grade 2-3 learners. Books will be donated to schools during the week of 18 to 22 July 2016.
  2. Library Makeover. Employees are volunteering their time to participate in a library makeover programme at pre-selected schools. This will happen in Gauteng, Limpopo, Free State, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape.
  3. Sandwich making. Our employees are volunteering their time to make sandwiches for crèches and homeless people.

What are you doing to make every day a #MandelaDay?
