We're all set to offer our customers airtime and data through Standard Bank Mobile, our first mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service.
Subscribers to Standard Bank Mobile can look forward to rewards such as free airtime and data as they do their day-to-day banking. You will also earn free data every time you use your Standard Bank credit, cheque or debit cards. We have also done away with data bundles - with no expiry date - so you can select the data price that best suits you. Data starts at 5c per megabit.
Standard Bank Mobile will also offer you some relief from the increasing cost of living; you'll be able to reap the benefits of saving through free airtime and data based on you specific account tier and how many banking transactions you do over a specific time.
Standard Bank Mobile is an extension of our digital offering. As Standard Bank embarks on an extensive digitisation drive, mobile communication has become a key feature in modern financial services. It’s impossible to separate your phone, from your credit card, insurance or ability to transfer funds across country borders.
The initial offer will include a SIM card and you'll have the choice of keeping you existing number of be issued with a new number.
We have plans to also offer handsets early in 2019 and to follow that up with broadband services like fixed LTE and fibre.
