Credit cards limit increase

I am going overseas and needed to book my flights. I called to temporarily increase my credit card limit. Eventually I spoke to a Sales person who, after going through all the formalites, checked her system, then asked my age. I was then told withput ceremony  I am too old to increase my limit. 

I was told to try the APP which I have. Sadly there's no option for that that I can find on my SBSA App. I guess its unanymous, I am too old. But not too old to use and APP it seems.

What is the age limit?
