I am so sorry to hear about your situation! 
Unfortunately nothing could be done while I was in China so I had to get the card unblocked when I returned to SA last year. 
When I return to SA next year however I will be changing banks (didn't have enough time last year) as there are many problems with Standard Bank and it is truly frustrating! I still cannot get my online banking to work properly and I have been unable to add beneficiaries myself (always have to go in to the bank to do it). 
I hope you get your issue resolved but in all honesty I doubt you will. You're better off changing to a different bank when you get the chance.

I am having the same problem. Been stuck in EU for months due to Covid, and Std Bank will not help me. 

 

Did you ever solve this issue?

Hi there - 

 

I am currently in a really frustrating situation as i put in the correct ATM Pin 3 times and blocked my debit card whilst in China. Not only is it extremely difficult to sort this out but trying to contact people in SA whilst in China is very difficult. I have emailed Standard bank and sent all the documents that were requested for this to be resolved and I have also been told that the pin has been reset however when I go to the ATM to try and withdraw using the CORRECT pin it still says the card is blocked. So i am very confused because if the pin really has been reset then why is it not working? I have been told there is no time constraint when the pin is reset it atomatically returns to zero tries exceeded but then my pin must have not been reset? 

 

Pleases assist as this is urgent and I need access to my funds.
