Please can anyone advise. If a friend from Australia wants to send money to my standard bank account. Would the swift code SBZAZAJJ be the only thing required to do this deposit. The information related to this swift code is linked to standard bank head office and not individual branches so is this swift code now universal for all standard bank accounts. Is the swift code all one needs to transfer money from another country or would they require the BIC code as well and if this is the case how would one obtain this BIC code for standard bank. Also, with regards to the BIC code for standard bank Google search identifies a BIC code for standard bank but part of the BIC code is a branch code and since majority of standard bank branches have closed are we still required to use the branch code where the account was opened from. ( my branch closed) or would that be the universal branch code.
Many thanks
