Linking debit card to PayPal

Hi, everytime i try to linky my debit card to my PayPal it says it gets rejected. what do i do?

Can anyone explain how do you link a 'Cheque Card' to a PayPal account?

I just tried to link my standard bank debit account and a message pops up that says the request has been declined by the issuing bank. Why am I seeing this? Can I link it another way?
