Hi Liv,
I spoke to our specialist about the problem you were experiencing. Debit cards were meant for swipe and withdrawal transactions. Certain merchants do accept debit cards for online transactions and others do not. Unfortunately, this is something the bank has no control over. For the you to complete an online transactions you need a cheque or credit card.

Hi Liv,
Can you please delete the Uber app and restart your device and try again. Thereafter, please let me know if you are still experiencing the same challenge so I can get a specialist to assist you.

So can you please tell me why is this happening with me also. Savings account-Debit Master Card? Do you want to tell me the expiry date on my card and the 3 numbers at the back is just there for fun? I am really tired of Standard bank, with its high costs and low service delivery. I mean if Capitec can do it so easily, what is the matter with this bank? I've been with Standard bank for a long time, but the service is just getting worse and worse... Please can you answer, because this bank is seriously making my life hell. I can't do anything that I need to, starting with adding my Debit Mastercard as a card to use with Uber....

Hi Synncube11,
The savings debit card does not have a CSV number and expiry date. For online transactions you need to have these 2 numbers and Uber works the dame way.
You will therefore need a cheque account for Uber or online purchases.
