Household Contents

Are decoders covered under household contents?  

Yes, provided they are not taken out of the house and the contents sum insured is adequate.

 

Are appliances covered if a mechanical/electrical breakdown occurs?     

They would only be covered subject to selecting appliance breakdown cover (optional extension at additional premium).

 

Are my goods covered whilst in transit when I'm moving to a new address?       

Normally cover is limited to theft only. Customers are advised to take cover with the removal company.

 

Do I need to keep proof of purchase of all my household contents?          

It is advisable to keep proof of purchase but Underwriters also work on an utmost good faith basis.

 

For what amount should I insure my household contents? 

For current replacement value.

 

If an item is stolen and there was no forcible/violent entry/exit, can I claim for that item?

No, normally there has to be violent entry/exit.

 

Are my computer covered under household contents cover?         

Yes, desktop computers provided that the contents sum insured is adequate.

 

I'm operating a small business from home. Do I have to take out a commercial policy?

Depends on the type of business. Cover is subject to referral to the Underwriter.

 

Are jewellery covered under household contents? 

Yes, limited cover. Customers are advised to specify jewellery under the All Risks section of the policy.

Good day

I need an insurance advisor who can assist me with tweaking the insurance to suit my needs comprehensively

currently we have sales person who do a hell of a job selling your product ,unfortunately it stops there I find that the customer services and any assisatnce that one may require is not forth coming

lots of pushing and shuving from piller to post
