Request a payment on your Mobile Banking App

Follow the below steps on how to request payment on the Mobile Banking App:

 

  • Log into your banking app and select the transactional account you want to send money from or receive money into e.g Cheque or Savings Account (Excluding Credit card).
  • Once on the selected account’s account overview screen, select ” Request a Payment”

  • Enter the following: Amount
  • Select the account that the money will be paid to
  • Enter Reference details (Not mandatory). Reference characters are limited to 12.

 

The “Next” button will not be enabled until all fields are completed correctly. 

Please note the limit on the amount is aligned to the Card EAP limit maximum is R500 000.00.

  • Select “Next”

  • On the “Request a Payment” screen you can select the preferred payment method; either a QR Code option or NFC (tapping phones).
  • Once you’ve selected the method, select “Next

Note: NFC (Near Field Communication) is device dependent.

If you have selected NFC.

How to pay:

  1. Ask the payer to unlock their phone
  2. Tap your phone on theirs

The person paying you will see a pre-login payment request verification screen with:

  • payment image
  • the account holder's name
  • requested amount
  • reference if available
  • buttons
    • accept
    • reject
  • Information box at the bottom of the screen.

Note: clicking the reject button will dismiss the verification screen and display the login screen.

By clicking the accept button the person paying you will be prompted continue with a sign in.

Once the person paying you has logged into the app and authentication has completed; the payment details will appear on their screen

  • The person paying you is then required to confirm the payment.
  •  Note: An OTP will still be sent as per current once off payment flow.

  • A “Payment successful” message will appear once payment has been confirmed.
