The thing here is someone with a Standard Bank account sent money to my account (fnb). I’m not doing the sending, the Standard bank person was sending to my fnb account.

On the confirmation it had INTERBANK IMMEDIATE PAYMENT and I did get an sms. So my query is how long does an INTERBANK IMMEDIATE PAYMENT usually take? From Standard to Fnb.

Thank you 🙏🏽

Hi @Vintwe.

Thank you for reaching out.

No, it does not. Different rules apply when it is an immediate payment.

It does not take longer than 2 hours if this is your first time processing a new beneficiary.

The funds should be reflecting on the account now. Please inquire with them.

Regards,

Standard Bank Tea

Thank you for your reply.
It was an immediate payment though. So does the 2-3 day delay also apply to immediate payments?

Good morning, @Vintwe.

Thank you for reaching out.

We are a receiving bank and are unable to confirm how long it may take.

However, EFTs from Standard Bank to Standard Bank take 0–24 hours.

EFTs to other banks take 2–3 working days.

Both may be delayed when processed over the weekend or on a public holiday.

Let us know if you require further assistance on this.

Kind regards,

Standard Bank Team

An eft payment was made to my account (fnb) from a standard bank account (Immediate payment) around 12:40pm but not reflected as of 7:20pm. I’d kindly like to know if this is a normal case. (Additional information, first time beneficiary from the particular Standard account)
