ADW_Let's try do the Maths properly, shall we?

Stated: (1) Profit after tax H1'08 +248% to R88.2m (H1'07: R25.2m). ADWs FY'08 Profit after Tax was R103.2m so at the half-way mark it's reached 85% of it's pvs years PAT already, and still with another 6months ahead of us and the Limosa Finance acquisition not yet reflected in the numbers, it's got to be good. (2) Headline EPS +175% at 43c H1'08 (15.6c H1'07) and it's FY'08 was 57c (so 43c at H1 vs 57c at FY'08, pretty commendable!)... (3) Revenue +415% to R307m at H1'08 (H1'07: R59m), and at FY'08 (Feb) it was R258m, so it's already +19% and we have another 6 months ahead of us... Someone tell me I'm missing something here, and if I'm wrong about the numbers, I'll just go back in my hole.

You aren't taking into account the exceptional performance between September and Feb. Firstly the results were higher than the trading statement suggested when I posted the workings. But on the updated results here it all is: Group revenue for 1 Sep 07 - 20 Feb 08 = 258.8 - 59.6 = 199.2 m Revenue 20 Feb 08 - 31 Aug 08 = 307 m More than a 50% increase - good stuff! Although operating expenses increased a comparable amount. Earnings Sep 07 - Feb 08 = 103.3 - 25.3 = 78 m Earnings Feb 08 - Aug 08 = 88.2 m EPS for Sep 07 - Feb 08 = 57 - 15.57 = 41,43 EPS for Feb 08 - Aug 08 = 42.99 This indicates growth on the previous 6 months of approx 3.6% If they maintain this then full year EPS will be about 50% higher than last years. Second half of the year has traditionally been better tho. Strong selling at the moment tho.

One thing I'll say for adw:it always closes strongly.But today's close is about 15% above what it was trading at a few minutes before.How do you figure that?
