Am keeping my puts after hearing business on sabc3

sabc3 business 1pm had discussion relating to low company earnings expected, a truck driver strike (undermining overseas investor confidence in us), a strong rand which is bad for our mineral exports. Added to this we have an election coming up adding to uncertainty. I was suddenly more sure about keeping my puts

it depends -the Fed expects earnings to be depressed to about 2 yrs. For things to turn around - all unemployed people need to find other forms of work. Next weeks is earnings seasons in the US - will give an indication if things are stable or still going down. I still expect a y/y decrease as monthly unemployment is falling. Question is which side are you on - shorts or longs
