Is it a good time to buy anglo? It just dropped 23 rands!

It may or may not be. But that point, on it's own, should not be your only reasoning for doing so. You really need to have something more to your plan. See, for instance, the current discussion on OML :-)

Personally I'd wait for it to be under R100.

Someone here was talking here about how interesting it would be if it broke 170.00 a few days ago and all the stop losses were triggered. Well that sure was prophetic! It's a whole 13% interesting. Dammit.. I must learn how to spot these opportunities! Brazen, I hope the plunge was too fast for you to get a chance to go long....

My opinion If you go back to december and check out the 10 to the 14 some where then you will see the grommets pushed the alsi to 22000 plus from lows of 19 000 to make big money on the futures roll over so me think this is a set up the beta of agl is 13 something so lets see I am in long 15 days of waiting but always see the potential in the mother ( she is HOt Allen Grey ad )so prpared for a small beating

Hi all, please assist. I have lost 50+% on Anglo CD and CE warrants today. I feel like an absolute idiot as I was actually well up a coulple of weeks ago and was expecting a bounce at the very much talked about R170.00 resistance level. Is their any hope of recovery in the next 75 days? I no no one can predict highs and lows but I would appreciate opinions.

I assume if a company suspends their dividend, then any funds that have a mandate to include high-dividend payers have to sell their shares in that company. Can anyone more knowledgable than I perhaps comment on whether this is a significant effect or not?

No dividend = no recovery..if you not buying for growth and you are not buying for dividends why buy?

R170 was a serious support that was broken today. Would you Sell a share that broke a resistence on the same day it broke? the small gamblers hoping for a quick R8-R15 profit might not see this as soon as they think.

In a meeting the whole morning so much to my surprise saw the Japanese domino record was broken when it went through R170. David Shapiro's stoploss was probably sitting on 17800 somewehere :) I'm a bit hesitent to short AGL now. It might or might not bounce back up as the bargain hunters might get courage climb in. Best short here is one on a pullback.

AGL has been caught so off guard which means all companies out there are in deep trouble. Their timing completely off in share buybacks and reducing gold stake!! last couple of years. I mean ANG is green today fo phuksake!
Just so you that no matter what you always get caught with your pants around your feet, just ask joost...
