if i buy _/R currency futures does that mean i expect the euro to strengthen against the rand, and vice versa if i go short.

Correct, If you buy EUR/ZAR at 9.30 you want it to go to 9.40, while if you short you want it to go to 9.20...

you are always traing the opposite currency, so the euro/dollar/etc ..

thanks, this is what confused me the report on the currency futures says that they are Rand bullish and in the next sentence they recommend going long on all 3 EUR contracts, or am i reading it wrong.

ok i think i get it Rand bullish means that the rand is going weaken against other currencies
