From: Securities Online Share Trading, [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 03 August 2010 09:02 AM Subject: RE: Sensitivity: Confidential Thank you for your e-mail. Please be advised the JSE has plans to move all single stock futures trading from Off market to On market trading. At this point in time the bids and offers on SSF's is us making the market, once the futures trade is executed we then report it to Safex. In the case of trading On market, the SSF holder basically trades with any and all market participants. At this point in time the JSE is testing this plan by offering MTN and AGL December contracts as On market trading. As our system is only geared for Off market trading we are not offering trading in these products. In the event of the JSE testing being successful and their moving of all single stock futures trades On market, we will upgrade our systems accordingly. In the interim we do suggest that clients wanting positions in AGL or MTN look at contracts for difference (CFD's) in these particular stocks. Feel free to contact us if you require any further assistance. ouch, formating mess .. herewith the story
The JSE is looking to move SSF's to on market, our system is current off market. As a trial the JSE has decided that the Dec MTN and AGL contracts wiill be on market and everything else wiill be off market - we're not able to run two systems (one off one on) so are unable to offer trading in MTN and AGL dec contracts. If the JSE decides to go all on market we will changge our system to on market ..
