Dow up 100

I dont get this. Dow closed up 100 points and we open down 100 points!!!!!!!!! I am still trying to understand what kinda ripple effect the DOW has on the JSE. Can someone please expalin.

Dow closed below a major resistance level, so even though it was green, it retains the possibility for a retrace back to 133, with which it's been flirtin with over the past few trading sessions. Needs to punch thru 138 to convince the ladies she's got more green in her handbag. Ergo, bad news out from Great Satan, like this stuff on ML, leans towards former scenario.
