Just to fill in a bit - they will recoup the allowed the 13% over a period of 9 months, effective increase is more like 20%. The trick next time around will be to remember that their % increase should originate NOT from the higher base rate, but from a lower level.

See moneyweb.co.za .... NERSA that granted the increase says the money wil be used to pay increasing coal prices.The capital required to build new power stations is likely to come from government,international and local loans etc. ,not from an increase in electricity prices,it would seem.
