If the Fed quantitatively eases to avoid deflation, any significant dollar strength can lower import prices and so frustrate the Fed's attempt to lift prices. The Treasury/Fed might not intervene to weaken the dollar but the market should recognise that effective quantitative easing requires a weak currency. Good for Gold!!
