GoogleÂ’s market cap is 120% SAÂ’s GDP.

Is this misleading. SA's GDP is what is earned in a year. Google's Market Cap is number of shares multiplied by price. Price is prospective value and hugely distorted by PE in the case of some companies that can be huge, now days nothing short of 12. Its almost Google's GDP multiplied by PE. So comparing GDP with GDP multiplied by PE. Minimum 12 times bigger. Or am I wrong? I understand Alec Hogg here was purely trying to show SA's size but if I'm right, there should be a better way.
