Are there any one else who think these shares will drop? These high volumes traded over the past few days looks like people are selling

TA says no-way, but like always gold does follow its own rules and could surge to $1200 or $1300 for no reason (other than sentiment and hedgefunds pumping money into it) and GFI and HAR will fly (if ZAR stays at reasonable levels above 7.20) but at the same time gold could drop to $980 and both could sink as well. So you will have to have a solid and fast trigger finger to adjust for any changes as it could happen quickly. OMO

gold mines are difficult instruments to trade. Typically, once the speculation is flushed out of the move, investors value the stock based on project price over year and the projected exchange rate. STB reports usually tell you what they project the gold price at. gold needs to consolidate at higher levels (above 1000) for some time before the real price moves kick in. So in short, to short, you need to see gold dropping quite soon, because if it doesn't, investors are going to rerate their stock and prices will fly - IMO.

You'll be nuts to try and time and then short this gold market. Gold is in a bull market. Playing against the trend has wiped many portfolio's. Yes there will be corrections, and they will be wild and quick, but trying to time them is simply nuts in my opinion. Best way to play this market is in increments - buy in corrections, sell in strength. Limit your risk. Why short the Gold market when there is so many other overbought sectors and stock ?
