Most of our taxes should go to our local municipality so that we can track the people responsible for our city's maintenance. This will make corruption difficult for the person in charge. The rest of the tax can go to the country for the maintenance of highways, etc. Last year they increased the fuel levy by 17c per litre. Do you have any idea how much money can be generated with an increase like that. 17c x 50 litres (assuming) x 4 000 000 cars (assuming) x 3 times (assuming people fill up 3 times in a month)... THAT'S A SICK LOAD OF CASH PER MONTH! And I'm even being conservative, and not even taking into consideration that this is only the INCREASE in fuel levies. Toll gates would probably generate enough revenue for road maintenance. Then there's speeding fines. These are just additions to our normal tax (which should be more than enough to maintain the entire country anyway)
