AMS is some 5% lower than it was a year ago, whereas IMP is up almost 30%.Can anyone shed some light on the difference in performance. I do hold both in long term portfolios, and am long on AMS on CFD's getting in at 66800

AMS had a rights issue, which would add some dilution to the shareprice

also a chunk of their reserves are in Zim so with increased stability there was bound to be some change to the valuation.

Thanks for the above views, however, post rights issue AMS & IMP have increased by 9% and 24% respectively. The initial thought of going long on one and shorting the other did enter my mind, I know it a dangerous game to play, so maybe a better option just increase my longs on the former.

u mean buy more of an underperforming stock? that does not sound very sound: AMS is down 10% year to date while IMP is up 10%. I would close my AMS and buy IMP if I was you.
