I've invested in ITXUK and ITXEuro. Both have seen modest gains since my investment ca 9 months ago. I consider these my anchor rand hedges, they aren't as volatile as resource stocks, and are significantly more correlated with exchange rate movements. I haven't got great expectations in terms of returns from them, but serve more of a cushion in the event of another Emerging Markets Crisis or if our government decides to do something silly. Remember foreign dividends are taxable so as far as I'm aware, these will be taxed in your hands. Not sure about the selling issue, as far as I know these are domiciled in SA and DO NOT form part of your R2million offshore investment allowance. Hope this helps.
