JSE always up just before my Satrix debit order

I think there is a conspiracy within the big traders to lift Top 40 stock prices just before my Satrix debit orders go through on the 3rd...ha ha ha Spoken like politician...lol Must say i am amazed at the reaction of the JSE after the Wall St bloodbath. I nearly bet the wrong way....AGAIN!!! Cash is king. Rafi anyone?

Hey Dringo why dont you change your debt order date to the middle of the month..Markets do sometimes rise into the month end. Its makes the fund managers look good.

Hi Drigo. I own quite a few Satrix shares. How does one go about setting up a debit order account for topping up?

If I may - set up an account direct with SATRIX. Buying on OST platform (or any similar platform) is not justified due to the relativbe cost advantage by doing business directly with SATRIX. Check their website. Expressing interest in the debit order system indicates you wish to enter long term - just the more reason to move away from OST for this purpose. :-)

Interesting recommendation, CC. Just be sure to know of the cost advantages and penalties of your choice. Yes, on small regular trades the brokerage can hurt, but equally on a larger accumulation the annual "admin" fee can hurt.

Yup, thanks. All this leads to one important point: one can NEVER express a valid opinion without taking note of a specific scenario. It's like Tax advice: very little generalization when the individual is outside of the lower salary bracket, etc.

Yep, try www.satrix.co.za download the forms fax it through (FICA). Satrix is the long term "portfolio" for me, VERY LONG TERM!!! No need to quit OST as i need the adreneline fix of betting but not in a casino, so OST is a play portfolio. Must admit i have been sitting on the sideline since i lost out a few months back. I am still loosing money even in my paper trades, my system does not account for market "craziness" so will sit out till the storm is over and calm returns...2010? Satrix is retirement safe... No hard ups and downs like single stocks. And the fees have been reduced.

Open a linked account here on SFM then have your cash debited to your new miney market account so you do not spend it then on the 15th transfer it manually to satrix. you could even split it into 2 amounts. so 1 on the 3rd and 1 on the 15th but that is admin..over 20years you will not notice when sasol is at 5000 a share etc.
