Scandal. DWT quotes the MTM price which is a price set within 5,00pm and 5.05pm, the closing price can be quite diffrent and this is the price quoted by IGMarkets( last trade at 5.30pm). So at 5pm we were trading 26360 and we closed at 26110 hence the diffrence. Simon always quotes the MTM price in his morning post. Hope this helps

Surely by now they should have had contingency plans in case such things happen. I do not expect this from a internationally recognised exchange.

Hmmm... data corruption and the old backup tape not working? Simon, the moment you get a hastily typed-up email from JSE asking if you have a Excel spreadsheets of trades in the last month - start panicking.
