If massmart purchase Mica from super group,will it be allowed due to their Builders wharehouse chain ? and will it be good for the massmart price in the short term? if it goes throught.

At this stage of the game, I think they just buying out the competition. Retail is down especially construction sector and these stores feed the small alterations and handyman market.

It is an interesting question. Does the competition commission have exceptions for cases where jobs can be saved, e.g. in cases where the buyout is saving an otherwise collapsing company?

I do not think it will be a problem with competition board, it would be a very good thing for Massmart to buy mica as it would give the mica stores stability as Massmart is a strong financial company and share price will go up ie Massmart.
