I'm sure a few blokes are looking at the margin calls in their email boxed today and wondering what the hell happend with the gold and platinum sector yesterday. That short covering action was spectacular.

How do you figure it's short covering?

Gold index up 12.7% in one day, gold price up with 4% in two days and some good news from China. What is wrong with this picture? Gold shares ran, and then started dropping just before this anomaly. Guys took positions and bang, up in smoke.
