except it is for 2008, check the price they are getting for their product in 2009, down massively. And they have shut some 80% of production ..

Agreed Simon. In the short term thing look miserable. On the medium to longer term I think they are well positioned to take off once the demand increases.

maybe, but 2009 earnings could be 90% down (taking new price, shut downs and costs ito account)? stick that into the E part of PE, an then tis still expensive - and frankly they might not survive as a listed co. if things stay bad for long enough ..

thing is, when things improve (which they will eventually) and if MRF is still around - there'll be lots of time to buy ??

This sums it up for a large number of other listings, as well... if they are still around... if the whole globe does not explode... etc. Quote: "Owners of capital will stimulate the working class to buy more and more expensive goods, houses and technology, pushing them to take more and more expensive credits, until debt becomes unbearable. The unpaid debt will lead to the bankruptcy of banks, which will have to be nationalized, and the State will have to take the road which will eventually lead to Communism. " Karl Marx 1867.

Theres a lot of talk these days about "companies being priced as if they will de list" . In the opinion of the forum where which companies are greatest at risk not to ride out this storm as a listed company.

Simon is correct, there is a vast overhang of ore already produced and no buyers....I have family and friends that have to turn up for work each day at the various offices of the four largest chrome producers ,then sit and twiddle their thumbs as there is no work to be done. They are finding it very frustrating and it has caused some of them to develop ulcers!
