I thought an IPO was an inital Public offering .The deal is being done through Investec , DOes this mean that I cant purchase shares through Investec ?

the P = public or private. So in this case it is privcate and you can not buy any shares before the listing unless you are considered part of the private (staff, suppliers, current owners, etc.).
