What a ***** article. If you redraw any of those graphs with any dip as an end point it gives the same TA signals. Hence the reason why pure neural networks (which use computers to recognize and learn from patterns)Do not pick up meaningful patterns. Also the reason there is no serious technical hedge funds out there. Can you imagine a GLG offering hedge funds with a macro strategy, convertible arbitrage oh and then, technical analysis. Even quant funds that use pattern recognition and correlations continually update their trading signal because they know they are not constant as technical analysis implies. I wonder if Alec Hogg will be retiring after he shorted the "obvious" drop in the market.
