seeing that inflation may be an issue, good long term buy. ANy one else on any thoughts about this for a long term buy

not.with.standing the rand .. YTD GLD is +15.02%, ALSI is 13.02% and latter would have earned some divs as well that are not ncluuded in the move ..

What is the difference between Japan 1990 & usa 2010, why is there no inflation in Japan? and why would the usa path be different than that of Japan? I think we should be watching Asian markets more closely and give less weight to thoughts coming from usa.
